Mushroom Swiss Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Mayonnaise and mustard for spreading

Instructions:

  • Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form 4 patties.
  • In a separate pan, sauté the sliced mushrooms and onions until they’re caramelized and tender.
  • Grill the burger patties to your desired doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.
  • Assemble the burgers with mayonnaise and mustard on the bottom bun, followed by the patty with melted cheese, and a generous portion of the mushroom-onion mixture.
