Ingredients:
- Potatoes (Russet or another frying-friendly variety)
- Vegetable oil
- Salt
Instructions:
- Wash, peel (optional), and cut the potatoes into fries.
- Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for about 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry.
- Preheat the oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350-375°F (175-190°C).
- Fry the potatoes in batches: Cook for about 3-4 minutes until pale, remove, and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Increase the oil temperature to 375-400°F (190-205°C) and fry the potatoes again until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels, season with salt, and serve immediately.
