Classic Margherita Pizza recipe

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • Tomato sauce
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach (usually around 500-550°F or 260-290°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  3. Place the dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  4. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the dough.
  5. Arrange the slices of fresh mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the cheese, and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  7. Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove the pizza from the oven, and immediately scatter fresh basil leaves on top.
  9. Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing and serving.
