Ingredients:
- Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- Tomato sauce
- Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to the highest temperature it can reach (usually around 500-550°F or 260-290°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Place the dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the dough.
- Arrange the slices of fresh mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Drizzle olive oil over the cheese, and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the pizza from the oven, and immediately scatter fresh basil leaves on top.
- Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing and serving.
